Outstanding report for Fairfield School

FAIRFIELD School in Backwell is celebrating its glowing report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

The inspection took place in December last year and January 2011 and the report highlighted the all round excellence of the school and noted high levels of success in all areas from the quality of academic achievements to the effective governance and leadership of the school.

The pupils’ achievement was rated as outstanding, as was nursery and reception provision, due to the commitment and dedication of the staff and the inspectors reported that the school has a strong supportive atmosphere and excellent communication between the school and parents.

Headteacher Lesley Barton said: “We are absolutely delighted with this report. It is very satisfying to see that the warmth, strength and vitality of our school community has been recognised and highly praised.

“I am particularly pleased that the inspectors highlighted the fact that pupils’ personal development is excellent, that their overall achievement is outstanding and also that year six pupils achieve significant success in gaining places of their choice at their senior school and scholarships are won regularly.”
