THE artistic and marketing skills of pupils in Portishead were put to the test when they were asked to design a poster to advertise their school’s forthcoming summer fair.
Julia Donaldson, author of popular children’s book The Gruffalo, helped judge a poster competition at High Down Junior School which was won by Oliver, aged 10, who received a copy of a Horrid Henry book signed by its author Francesca Simon as his prize.
Oliver’s poster has been on display around the town this week, while the posters designed by runners-up Lauren, Chloe and James have been displayed throughout the school
The fair will take place at the Down Road school on Friday from 6-7.30pm.
