A PORTISHEAD school is appealing for old coins.

St Peter’s Primary School is looking for foreign currency or British coins that are no longer in use, to help them raise vital funds for a new sound and lighting system for the new school hall.

PTA member Jo Weston said: “Most people bring back coins from overseas holidays which just lie in the drawer unlikely to be used again and its these coins we are asking members of our community to donate to us.”

Donations can be made via the Hallett’s Way school or at the Travel House travel agents in High Street where a collection box is on display.
