Changes to the timetable for North Somerset’s mobile library will take place next week.

The service, which is run by North Somerset Council, operates in 28 communities throughout the district.

Opening times in Wrington, Claverham and Backwell will be amended, with a new stop added in Long Ashton. The village library was shut down by the council in a cost-cutting move on Saturday.

Stops in Tickenham will be removed when the timetable changes on Monday.

The changes follow on from an annual review of the service to ensure ‘the best use of the mobile library’, while ‘taking account of changing demand for the service’.

The vehicle will continue to operate on a two-week cycle, with most of the stops taking place fortnightly.

Busier locations will be served weekly and a small number of locations will be served twice weekly.
