Backwell School Association (BSA), which is run by parents, bought the 17-seater vehicle to enable more students to take part in trips and sports.

The BSA raised the money through barbecues, Christmas fairs and selling refreshments at school functions.

Members would like to thank the students, parents, staff and all the villagers and businesses who have supported the cause.
