Golden Valley Primary School is looking for new governors.

A primary school in Nailsea is looking to recruit governors ahead of the new academic year.

Golden Valley Primary School, in Nailsea Park, is looking for members of the community who are interested in helping out.

Vice chairman of governors, Matt Furneaux, said: "Being a governor is incredibly rewarding - you have a chance to work as part of a team to be a 'critical friend' to support and challenge the headteacher and school to achieve the very best education for the children and to set the strategic direction for the school."

The role involves attending full governing body meetings every term - approximately eight times a year - and participating in projects and working parties as well.

The school is looking for people with experience of financial management or those from a legal background.
