CHILDREN and staff have been learning about the importance of safe driving.

PCSOs Dawn Tremlett and Debbie Charman went along to the school on September 24 to talk about The Pace Car Scheme.

The Bristol Road school has signed up to the initiative and will be asking parents to sign the Pace Car Pledge, which aims to encourage people to drive safely and considerately as well as reducing the number of times they use their vehicle.

They will also be asked to display a pace car sticker in their vehicles so other drivers begin to recognise the scheme, aimed at creating a safe environment for children to walk and cycle to school.
