ECO-WARRIORS at Trinity Primary School in Portishead received a helping hand with their spring gardening preparations.

Volunteers from the town’s Homebase store helped students repair their greenhouse made from 1,500 plastic bottles.

Wear and tear over the winter months had left the greenhouse in need of some urgent attention before the youngsters could progress with their planting.

Class teacher Katy Peacock who supervises the eco-warriors group said: “We were delighted when Homebase offered to help us rebuild our greenhouse. Our gardening community group can now begin growing their fruit, vegetables and flowers, ready for harvest later in the year.”
