Bright young mathematicians in Portishead have excelled in a team competition.
Trinity Primary School pupils Stefan, Sam, Addy and Fiona took on the National Young Mathematicians’ Award’s challenge earlier this month.
Their score of 35 out of 40, or 87.5 per cent as the clever students will be able to tell you, was good enough for the team to be invited to the regional competition.
Deputy headteacher Michele Walters said: “We are very proud of how well they represented themselves and Trinity. If they make it through this round, they will be invited to the national finals at the University of Cambridge later this month.”
The maths competition tests children’s ability to solve complex problems using maths and logic.
