Plans to improve facilities at Portishead’s secondary school are likely to be given the go-ahead this afternoon (Wednesday).
Gordano School is seeking planning permission to build a two-storey dining and classroom facility within its current grounds.
However, to make room for it, the school needs approval to demolish a single-storey classroom block.
It hopes the project will improve offering for sixth form students, especially given that Portishead’s population is growing and the school’s pupils numbers are on the rise.
North Somerset Council’s planning committee will make the final decision at the Town Hall in Weston this afternoon.
