Plans to knock down part of Gordano School in Portishead will be debated tonight (Wednesday).
Portishead Town Council’s planning committee will meet at 7.30pm in the Folk Hall to discuss the application and make a recommendation to North Somerset Council.
The school, in St Marys Road, wants to demolish a classroom block and in its place build a new canteen, library and study area for sixth form pupils.
The changes are designed to help the school find room for more pupils as the town’s population increases.
