TEENAGERS in North Somerset can learn about the benefits of apprenticeships at a special event this month.

Gordano School in Portishead will host a special seminar and apprenticeship fair on March 31 from 4-6.30pm.

The school has teamed up with Weston College and secondary schools across the north of the district to start a project aimed at encouraging youngsters aged 16-18 to consider apprenticeships as a way forward following school.

At the start of the event, which is open to anyone and will be held at the school in St Mary’s Road, a seminar will be held to teach those attending about apprenticeships, their benefits, how to find out about them and how to apply for one.

People currently taking part in apprenticeships will also be there to talk about their experiences before the event is opened out into a fair, with a number of employers and training suppliers available to give out information and advice. To find out more call the school on 01275 842606.
