PUPILS were given the chance to ferment their own cocoa beans as they learnt about the importance of fair trade.
Pamela Esquicel, from a Peruvian fair trade cocoa co-operative showed youngsters how cocoa beans are turned into chocolate bars.
Pamela was invited to the village by the Pill Fairtrade group as she wanted to meet a UK community which supports the initiative.
The children told Pamela about their tuck shop, an initiative which helped Pill to gain Fairtrade village status.
