GIRLS at St Peter’s Primary School gave engineering the thumbs-up after attending a Rolls Royce workshop.
Performance engineer Fiona Parker and controls engineer Holly Driver visited the Portishead school as part of the Rolls Royce commitment to encourage more girls to take up careers in engineering.
Holly said: “There is a shortage of females entering into engineering courses at universities and we want to highlight the career opportunities for girls.”
Fiona added: “We want to eradicate the myth that engineering is for the boys and the girls at St Peter’s seem very interested in the subject.”
