A talented dance troop has made it to the national finals of the Great Big Dance Off competition.

The year seven dance club at Backwell School won the regional finals with their performance of Waka Waka by Shakira.

The 22 dancers are now busy rehearsing for the finals in July.

The group has also performed in assemblies and at the North Somerset Dance Festival in April.

Miss Hayward, the coach and choreographer for the club, said: “The dedication and commitment the girls have shown is fantastic. They have all worked incredibly hard and have been rewarded – well done girls. We are all looking forward to the final stage of the competition.”
