A village hosted a crafts club to keep the children entertained during the summer holidays.

Children who attended Congresbury Community Library, in Station Road, got the chance to create an alien during the two-hour club.

The library is hosting four-weeks' worth of children's craft classes to teach young children new skills over the school break.

On Monday, they will be given the opportunity to design a rocket ship.

The final class will take place the week after, on August 19, where they will make a rocket or wax resist picture during the free club.

On July 29, the youngsters created their own name plates to take home.

The community library is managed by volunteers and the parish council, with the support of North Somerset Council.

The classes run from 2.30-4.30pm.

All activities are free of charge and children attending must be accompanied.
