A stroke of good fortune and a competition entry by a pupil’s father has helped Portishead primary school pupils win lots of new books to read.
Students taught at Trinity Primary School have been able to show off their library’s new additions thanks to a World Book Day competition which was run last month.
Teaching assistant Emma O’Brien said: “A year two parent, Jonathan Layton, won a World Book Day competition for the school.
“He entered a competition through the company he works for, Michelin PLC, and he managed to win a literacy pack which included more than £700 worth of books.
“The children will enjoy reading these books as they will all be put in the school library for the whole school to enjoy.”
