Clevedon School headteacher ‘delighted’ with A-level results

Students of Clevedon School will be going to their first choice universities and into the world of work after celebrating their A-level results this morning (Thursday).

In total, 14 per cent of students achieved grades A*-A and the overall pass rate was 97 this year, down by two per cent on last year.

One student won a place at the University of Cambridge after achieving three A* grades and one B, while another will attend Oxford after scoring an A* and two As.

Headteacher Jim Smith told the Times: "I am delighted once again, so many students have gone on to achieve fantastic grades.

"We have students going on to Oxford and Cambridge and others making it into apprenticeships and the world of work.

"I must give thanks to our staff and families for supporting the students over the academic year."

Head of sixth form, Mark Davies, was 'really pleased' with students' academic achievements.

He said: "I am really pleased where people have got to, for the third year running student's have exceed their target grades which is amazing."

John Wells, chief executive of the Clevedon Learning Trust, added: "Congratulations to all the students and their successes and we wish them all the success for the future."
