A Clevedon primary school has applied to join a multi-academy trust.
St Nicholas Chantry Primary School in Highdale Avenue, is hoping to become the latest member of the Clevedon Learning Trust – a group which includes Clevedon School as well as Yeo Moor and Tickenham primary schools.
Peter Treasure-Smith, headteacher, said: “We have made a formal application to convert to being an academy and we are seeking to join the Clevedon Learning Trust as we firmly believe it is in the best interests of the children at St Nicholas Chantry.
“We are now waiting to hear from the South West schools commissioner’s office.”
