Two children from a Nailsea school were so moved by the earthquake in Nepal they organised collections to help the relief effort.
The young pupils wanted to do something to help the thousands of people who have lost their family members and homes after two earthquakes.
Sophie, aged five, from St Francis Primary School spent a Saturday morning collecting money for the appeal outside Waitrose in Nailsea.
Her classmates and their parents also donated to her plight and helped her raise £160.
Jemima, aged seven, organised a cake sale at school and invited her peers to buy the delicious baked goods.
The thoughtful youngster raised £217 to add to the total.
The school is delighted with their efforts.
