CHILDREN cheered and waved as they spotted the tall ship Lord Nelson in the water off Pill Creek.
The sailing ship, which has a 37m high mast, was moored in the River Avon while waiting for a high tide, after making a visit to Bristol.
Children from Crockerne Primary School in Pill were invited down to see the ship, which was built in the 1980s as the first sailing ship to enable people with disabilities to sail.
