A VISIT from a cuddly creature allowed children in Flax Bourton to learn about the role of guide dogs.
Charlie the dog is currently in training to become a guide dog and he went along to the village primary school with his trainer Dawn and 15-week-old puppy Legend to meet the children during a special assembly.
Dawn spoke to the youngsters about what help guide dogs provide to blind people and also told them about Charlie’s training.
Charlie is sponsored by Tarmac, which is based at the nearby Stancombe Quarry, and the children have been getting regular updates on how he has progressed in training.
Eight-year-old pupil Morgan said: “Charlie was very friendly.”
