KEEN writers from schools across North Somerset have been rewarded for their work.
Children from primary schools in the district have taken part in the Threshold Prize, which is aimed at encouraging creative writing by allowing writers to visit schools and help pupils develop their writing skills.
This year, the youngsters involved were from schools across North Somerset, Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset and Bristol, including St Mary’s in Portbury, St Nicholas Chantry in Clevedon and Trinity in Portishead.
On July 3, 44 children enjoyed a prize day in Taunton, which began with a drama workshop, before they all received prizes for their work from writer and poet Kit Wright .
The children also had the chance to see their work published in the Threshold anthology.
