CINEMA and literature will be covered in the next programme of courses organised by Clevedon Adult Studies Association.

From January 6, a five-week look at French cinema will be held at the Curzon cinema with Maggie Choyce, taking in the era from the New Wave, via Goddard, Bresson and Cocteau, to the 1980s.

At the Friends Meeting House in Albert Road on January 10, a six-week course will begin analysing the Tolstoy classic, Anna Karenina, considered one of the world’s great novels, with guidance from Cath Humphris.

From January 23, an eight-week course will be held at the same venue covering Latin for beginners.

Literature and screen media will be combined in the final course for January called From Page to Screen. The day school at the Friends Meeting House on January 25 will look at favourites including Jane Eyre and Great Expectations.
