Animal encounters, panning for gold and hair braiding were just some of the activities on offer at Wraxall Primary School’s summer fair.

The event was held at Failand Village Hall and the ground was packed with stalls and games for families to enjoy.

Children could take part in crafts, hold lizards and snakes, get their face painted and test their skills in the penalty shootout and Nerf firing challenges.

Barbecued treats were served up to hungry revellers and visitors also had the chance to win a host of prizes during the raffle.

Headteacher Ben Tucker sat in the barber’s chair at 5pm and had his beard shaved off to raise money for school funds.
