CAKE sales at a Clevedon school have raised a staggering £1,587 for new books.
The Bake for Books challenge was organised by parents of children at the school.
Each year group took it in turns to run an afterschool bake sale to compete to raise the most money.
The winning year group was year four which raised just more than £7 per child.
The money will now be used to buy new books for the library at the Highdale Avenue school.
