Badminton player Mizuki Fujii, who claimed a silver medal at the London Olympics in 2012, visited the school on Monday morning and gave the year seven pupils some tips to improve their play.

Mizuki, who retired from professional play after winning a medal five years ago, was joined by other members of the Bristol Jets badminton team.

Gordano School has an enviable record when it comes to badminton.

Key stage four students, Abi Radcliffe, Alice Brett, Abi Kemp and Lucy Gorham, managed to win the national schools championship last year.
