Students from Backwell School partied the night away in Congresbury last night (Wednesday) for their end-of-year prom.

Backwell School hosted its year 11 prom at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House, and hundreds of people were at the venue to celebrate the occasion.

Proud parents lined the circular route outside of the hotel as their children arrived in sports cars, classic cars, and in quirky vehicles.

Dozens of teenagers – dressed to the nines in smart suits and floor-length dresses – excitedly gathered on the venue’s lawns to celebrate the end of five years of hard work preparing for their GCSE exams.

For some, it was a final goodbye to the school but for others it was a simple celebration as they will be heading back to the school to study more within its sixth form.
