Pupils at Backwell School were treated to a cookery demonstration from members of the Royal Navy.
Marples and Thewlis from Royal Navy Logistics in Portsmouth demonstrated their culinary skills while sharing their experiences of life in the armed forces.
The students learned about opportunities for chefs available outside of the hotel and catering industries, as well as other opportunities for students thinking about signing up.
As chefs, both members of the Royal Navy Catering Demonstration Team have not only catered on board naval vessels for the crew but have also prepared feasts for royalty and dignitaries all over the world, including the Queen.
The students found the visit fascinating and were very pleased when they were allowed to taste the delicious finished dishes too.
