ST KATHERINE’S School in Pill has received an award for its new catering and hospitality facility.

The Ham Green school was given the LABC award for excellence in the Best Education Building category for the West of England. The LABC is an organisation representing local authority building control departments in England and Wales.

The new facility at St Katherine’s was opened in January and includes a 300-seat dining area, state-of-the-art production kitchens and its own training restaurant called The Leaf at Ham Green.

Headteacher Stephanie Quayle said: “Using this facility has given huge amounts of pleasure to the students on a daily basis, plus to all the visitors and guests who have enjoyed the excellence catering provided by our students when they have used it for meetings and conferences.”
