An athlete from St Katherine’s School in Pill has won a medal at a national indoor competition.
Ashya Gray, a year eight student at the school, won bronze for his long jump at the Sportshall UK Championship in Manchester – jumping a distance of 2.56m – making him the third best in the country in his age group.
A school spokesman said: “This is a phenomenal individual achievement for a hugely talented athlete.”
