SCORES of villagers lined up to receive fresh apple juice pressed by pupils as part of the Backwell Junior School’s 150th birthday celebration.
The school invited residents to take their apples along to the recreation ground to have them crushed and pressed into juice for a small fee. The event was held to raise money for the school’s project to refurbish part of the original building and turn it from a library and small group base to a reception and staff facilities.
