Lucky students were treated to a wide range of trips and activities as part of their enrichment week at Backwell School.

More than 400 pupils took part in residential trips to various places in Europe where they canoed down the Ardeche River, sailed in the Mediterranean and visited Pompeii and Vesuvius.

A further 400 students opted for school-based activities and day trips which included bush camps, horse-riding and visits to the Snowdome in Tamworth and West Midlands Safari Park.

Pupils were also able to have a go at some new courses including photography, science and music.

The enrichment week is open to students in years seven, eight and nine and the school would like to thank local businesses and groups who took part in the event.
