PORTISHEAD pupils dressed up for a taste of Victorian times.
Year five students at St Peter’s Primary School heard how children lived in the ‘olden days’ and experienced some of the daily activities.
Phoebe, aged 10, said: “We had to be silent in class and stand up when someone came in the room. We made a dunce hat and if someone was naughty they had to stand in the corner wearing it which was funny.”
In the playground pupils had fun with games such as oranges and lemons but, after inspecting a cane that the teacher produced, they all agreed they were pleased that corporate punishment has now been banned in UK schools.
