Happy students at Gordano School in Portishead are celebrating this morning (Thursday) after achieving ‘excellent’ A-level grades.
The school’s results have improved from last year, with 80% of grades being A* to C in 2016, compared with 74 per cent last year.
Fifteen pupils received all A or A* grades, including Cecilie Andersen whose four A*s will see her study maths at the University of Oxford.
As way as A-level results, 23 students achieved one or more distinction results in the BTEC examinations.
Headteacher Gary Lewis said: “I’m really proud of our sixth formers and their teachers who have produced excellent and rising results at Gordano this year.”
