CHILDREN in Clevedon learnt about the trees in their school playground during a visit from the town’s tree wardens.
Angela Slotte and Carol Price spent an afternoon at St Nicholas Chantry Primary School where there are many notable specimens including Brewer’s weeping spruce, a coast redwood and an avenue of mature beech at the school entrance.
The youngsters were taught the tree names and also measured and estimated the ages and sizes of the trees while learning some interesting facts about the trees they regularly walk past.
