CHILDREN at a Backwell school learned a valuable lesson about all that glisters when they put on a show about King Midas.
Years three-five from Fairfield School put on three ‘excellent’ performances for parents, family and friends, according to school spokesman Netta Shore.
The enthralled audience heard the story of the greedy, selfish King who ignored his family, advisors and royal courtiers in his quest for gold.
His one wish that everything he touches turns to gold comes true, and the children acted out the terrible consequences which ensued.
Netta said: “The singing was fantastic, including several soloists and the dancing was a treat.”
