A BRITISH snowboarding champion worked with pupils at St Katherine’s School in a number of inspiring workshops.

Jamie Barrow visited the Pill school as part of the Sky Sports Living for Sports programme which is aimed at using sport to inspire youngsters as well as improve the way they work together and listen to each other.

Jamie spent the day working with the school’s programme group, made up of 16 year eight and nine boys, with team building and communication games put on as well as some challenging competitions. He also told them his own story of how he overcame injury to become an Olympic hopeful.

Acting head of PE, David Cook said: “Jamie was a real inspiration and all the boys related to him as he is only 21 and was British Youth Champion when he was a similar age to the students in the group.

“Amazingly Jamie brought the Olympic torch which he carried through Bath in 2012.”
