A 20-year-old from Nailsea is encouraging more school leavers to join apprenticeship schemes and learn valuable skills.

Budding pharmacist Jenny Maby was recognised for her outstanding contribution at Cohens Chemist, in High Street, after joining as an apprentice in January.

Jenny landed her dream role as a pharmacy assistant through Learning Unlimited.

She said: “I was at a point where I was unsure which direction I wanted to take after leaving college because I wasn’t enjoying my course and realising that it was an area of work I didn’t wanted to go into.

“This opportunity has enabled me to enter an industry I am really interested in and to gain lots of new skills that will open doors for me in my future career. I would say that if you are unsure of what to do, like I was, you should give an apprenticeship a go - it’s a great way to get a qualification and work experience - I would definitely recommend it.”

Learning Unlimited offers 30 different apprenticeships in a variety of fields. To find out more visit www.learningunlimiteduk.com
