A WHOPPING £2,047 has been donated toward a project aimed at introducing more life-saving defibrillators in Portishead.

Pupils at High Down Infant School held a sponsored walk around their Down Road playground and collectively walked 1,000 miles.

The money they raised has been handed to The Lions Club of Portishead in support of the Heart Restart Challenge, which saw a team of 30 riders cycle from Portishead to Land’s End in September.

The project aims to raise £20,000 to allow public-access defibrillators to be installed.
