Tinsel and crowns sparkled through the halls of two Nailsea schools as pupils celebrated a touch of gold day.

Children from The Federation of Hannah More Infant and Grove Junior Schools in Whiteoak Way were invited to wear gold to lessons to mark Grove School’s 50th birthday.

The federation is hoping to sponsor a guide dog puppy for Guide Dogs for the Blind and the non-uniform day was held to support the cause.

Staff and pupils need to raise £1,500 by the end of the academic year to pay for the hearing dog’s training and are continuing to fundraise for the appeal.
