Pirate-themed adventures have been enjoyed by youngsters at Northleaze Primary School in Long Ashton during its literacy week.
The week was organised to give pupils in all year groups some inspiration to write their own adventure stories with a real pirate attending to talk to them about his life sailing the high seas.
The children also took part in a host of exciting arts and crafts activities throughout the week including making their own tea-stained treasure maps, creating pirate hats and designing a ship in a bottle.
