Kind volunteers from a fast food chain teamed up with students to transform Gordano School’s garden.
Staff and manager Daniel Barnett from McDonald’s in Portishead Retail Park helped pupils to install an outdoor classroom in the school grounds.
The 22 volunteers worked on the new secret garden by tidying the area, laying bark on the floor and staff from McDonald’s donated coffee grounds or compost.
Gary Williams, Gordano School headteacher, said: “It was fantastic to see volunteers from McDonald’s get involved in helping our school to install our new outdoor classroom.
“I would like to thank Daniel and the team for all their hard work – we are very much looking forward to having some of our lessons outdoors so that the kids can enjoy the new alfresco classroom.”
