Pupils at Wrington Primary School enjoyed a visit from police sniffer dog Ollie.
They got a chance to learn about Ollie’s work in the community and he is one of about 40 dogs in service for Avon and Somerset Constabulary.
PC Louise Grabham brought him along to the school so pupils could meet the springer-spaniel, who has been in action on the force since 2014.
He was welcomed into the team five years ago after completing a six-week training programme, which teaches dogs to hunt for drugs, firearms and ammunition.
Ollie works and lives with his handler Louise and covers jobs across vast areas of Avon and Somerset.
He is originally from Hereford and joined the force when he was 21 months old.
Wrington Primary School teaches youngsters in reception through to year six and pupils have recently enjoyed a visit from children’s author CS Clifford to boost their learning.
