The first details for a new food festival in Portishead have been revealed.

Eat: Portishead will take place from at the marina on August 11 and will feature dozens of producers and traders showcasing their wares.

Brand new business Coo-coo-ca-choo Gourmet Cupcakes will be in attendance while young farmer Mollie Goodall will exhibit her lambs and fowl next to her stall.

Co-organisers Beverley and Sarah Milner Simonds said: “The festivals aim to reconnect visitors to the productive land around them – bringing farm machinery and livestock is a part of this.”

As well as the great selection of food, DJs and sea shanty band Barnacle Buoys will perform.

Punch and Judy shows will be put on throughout the day while a face painter and balloon modeller will be strolling around the stalls.

Eat: Portishead will run from 10am-5pm.

The monthly town market will be staged on the same day.
