NAILSEA residents whose homes and gardens fell victim to flood water due to torrential downpours will have the chance to share their concerns with key agencies.

At the beginning of the month, those living in parts of the town were forced to use buckets and brooms to bail water away from their homes after heavy rain fell during the afternoon and evening of August 4.

Some people pulled up drain and manhole covers in the hope of allowing the water an easier run-off route and some used sandbags to prevent the water getting into their homes.

Following the incident, many residents raised concerns the drains in their area could not cope with the volume of water due to the fact they were blocked.

On Thursday, a flood drop-in session, organised by North Somerset Council, Wessex Water and the Environment Agency, will take place for all those affected by the recent flooding.

This will take place at Nailsea School in Mizzymead Road from 1.30-6.30pm and will give people the chance to talk to someone about their concerns and share information about their experiences.

The council is interested in hearing from people with any photos or information about the recent flooding in Nailsea. Anyone with photos can take them along to the drop-in or they can be emailed to floodrisk@n-somerset.gov.uk.

Anyone unable to attend the event can fill out a questionnaire online at www.n-somerset.gov.uk/flood
