Rush-hour commuters trying to get home to Portishead from Bristol will not be surprised to learn they face the worst traffic delays in North Somerset.
New Highways England figures have revealed the southbound stretch approaching junction 19 is the worst stretch for speeds, with drivers clocking 58.8mph on average.
The Government-backed body analysed 20 spots across the road network in North Somerset, with the stretch between Weston (junction 21) and Burnham (junction 22) the fastest at 71mph.

RAC head of roads policy Nicholas Lyes said: “More congestion means more wasted time and money, which is clearly bad news for drivers.”
The southbound sliproad at junction 19 is notorious for delays in an evening as workers try to get home from Bristol.
An upgrade to the junction and alterations to approaches in Portishead are planned by Highways England and North Somerset Council.
Wyndham Way is also due to be widened to improve traffic flow on the outskirts of town.
Mr Lyes added: “Extra capacity is badly needed as Britain now has around 38 million vehicles registered for use, and in the 10 years from 2007 more than four million extra vehicles came on to the road.”
