DONKEYS will be dashing across a field in Backwell next week to raise funds for the scouts.
Young riders will compete in eight races at the 27th Donkey Derby, using animals usually ridden on Weston beach, at Lakeside Field, in Station Road, on June 24.
Stalls including a coconut shy, greasy pole, crockery smash, welly wanging and a bouncy castle will also help swell the coffers of 1st Backwell Scout Group.
Music will be provided by the Nailsea Scout and Guide Band and dancers from the Weston’s Adele Stitch School of Dance, will entertain the crowds.
The fun kicks off at 12.30pm with the first race at 1pm and entrants are asked to get there early.
