Christmas shoppers can spread some cheer this year by dropping off an extra present to help families in need at the Give A Gift shop in Nailsea.

The shop was set up by churches from the town and it is appealing for donations of food and new toys to distribute to struggling families over the festive season.

Donations can include food, toys and toiletries and they must all be new and unwrapped.

Crown Glass Shopping Centre has given the organisers a shop in Colliers Walk, which is open all day on today (Friday) during the Christmas fair.

The Works, in Colliers Walk, is offering a 25 per cent discount for people buying an item for the shop.

All the donations will be taken to the Foodbank and children's centres to be given out for Christmas.

Foodbank helps provide people in crisis with a three-day supply of food and toiletries.
