VOLUNTEERS who have given decades of service to their communities have been rewarded.
Eighteen volunteers, who between them had clocked up 1,000 years of service to organisations across North Somerset, were handed certificates at the Diamond Volunteers event organised by Voluntary Action North Somerset.
Certificates and crowns made by youngsters from Hill Top Preschool in Portishead were handed to them at the event at the Lounge Bistro in Weston on June 7.
Clevedon Care volunteer John Hulse, Gordano Scouts’ Brian Scott and Crossroads carer Alan Richardson were among those given prizes, after they were nominated by businesses and organisations from across the district.
